I have been working on ‘highlights’ from my tree and connected trees. These are all notable people – not because they were great or famous, but because they are interesting and have a feeling of life, personality and individuality. Kelita was a working man, but there is a vivid sense of an aggressive, energetic man. Jane Stevens was the wife of a Unitarian Minister and her not uncritical loyalty, her love of her children and her sense of purpose shine through. William Kirkpatrick of Malaga is on the historical record, his ambition and vigour are clearly features of his life. Rutenbai Petit was a remarkable and tragic woman whose husband is one of the really powerful forces in modern world history.
